All about Cancer

All about Cancer

According to most Sun-sign guides, Cancers are famous for one thing: their love of home and family. In fact, they're often portrayed as being fond of nothing else. That, however, is an extremely nearsighted description. While it's true that Cancers have an innate loyalty toward their roots, especially toward the people and places who shape their memories, there's a lot more to them than just where they've come from. They're also concerned with where they're going, and with finding the safest way to get there. So when dear ones are involved, a Cancer will spare nothing to ensure that they're not exposed to any danger on any level. They can even be a bit too protective at times, so much so that they need to be careful of a tendency to be an 'enabler.'

The one trait that's not usually mentioned under Cancer's list of qualities, however, is the one that's the most important to them: privacy. Their symbol is the crab, after all, which is so fond of privacy that she carries a shell on her back to retreat into at any time.

When it comes to relationships, there's absolutely nothing Cancers won't do for a loved one -- absolutely nothing. They're capable of very deep feelings and, in romantic relationships, that can often mean they're easy prey, so they need to be careful in matters of the heart.

As parents, they offer an endless supply of nurturing -- even if it's aimed toward animals, plants or other people's kids. They have a knack for taking good care of anyone or anything that needs them. Cancers make the world a better, kinder place!

Starcast for June 20 - July 21

Starcast for June 20 to July 21

The Summer Solstice is marked each year with the entrance of the Sun into Cancer, highlighting the themes of family, home and security. Yet, you'll need to be extra flexible when Uranus turns retrograde on June 26. Mars sets a new course with the entrance into service-oriented Virgo on July 1 when you'll have all of the energy you need to set new projects in motion. On July 2, the new Moon in Cancer brings new energy and is a perfect time for home improvement projects or a family vacation. Mars and disciplined Saturn conjunct on July 10, and it's time to put in some extra effort. Later the same day, you'll take a trip down memory lane when communicative Mercury enters sentimental Cancer. Then Venus' entrance into Leo on July 12 brings a nice dose of romance into your life. And finally, in the last part of this solar period, communicative Mercury is busy with a sextile to Saturn on July 14 when your mind is extra sharp, followed by a sextile to Mars on July 15, which helps you get your thoughts out to the world. A full Moon in ambitious Capricorn on July 18 brings much of what you've been working on to a culmination. Just watch that you don't say too much or over commit with Mercury's opposition to Jupiter on July 19!

June 20: Sun enters Cancer

This sensitive water sign's symbol is the Crab, an animal that carries its home with it wherever it goes. This is a fitting symbol for a sign that is not only concerned with family and home, but with themes of safety and security as well. Yet this sign is also all about compassion and nurturance, making this a wonderful time to remember the importance of family, hearth and home. Count your blessings!

June 24: Sun sextile Saturn

The Sun in compassionate Cancer forms a beautiful opportunity aspect with Saturn in efficient Virgo, indicating that you'll get the recognition you deserve for all your hard work! With the assistance of others, you'll have the chance to solidify your goals. Don't be shy about stepping into your authority -- you've earned it!

June 26: Uranus turns retrograde

When Uranus turns retrograde, it's smart to expect the unexpected. This planet is all about change, waking people up and moving them out of old routines. With this retrograde, you'll be going over some of the decisions you made since the beginning of spring. This is a time of surprising events, so don't expect things to go as planned. Instead, embrace changes as they occur and be flexible.

July 1: Mars enters Virgo

Mars takes about two years to transit through all 12 signs of the zodiac. This particular transit through Virgo is especially important since Saturn entered Virgo way back in September 2007, which means you've already given a lot of thought to the themes of health, work and service. Now, energetic Mars activates what you've already been working on these last months. Your health and fitness regime needs more attention, your working conditions are calling you to take action, and the kind of service you want to give the world needs to be set in motion. You don't need to commit this instant, but by the time Mars reaches Saturn next week, make sure to have a clear idea about what you're doing!

July 2: New Moon in Cancer

This time of year always brings a new Moon in its home sign of Cancer. Tending to your personal needs and those of your home and family become extra important. Nurturing and nourishing are strong impulses now, and making a commitment to do both will bring wonderful rewards. So make your favorite comfort food, volunteer at the local soup kitchen or plan a family picnic!

This new Moon will most affect those born July 1-5, October 2-6, January 1-5 and March 30-April 3.

July 10: Mars conjunct Saturn

Saturn is quite the taskmaster in this pairing with energetic Mars. Mars in Virgo loves a project, yet Saturn reminds us that a job is not worth doing if it's not done well. This is a great aspect in which to roll up your shirtsleeves and get something done. If you are the impatient type, you will be tested. For the rest of you, you'll get more done now than you have all year!

July 10: Mercury enters Cancer

The communication planet in this water sign brings feelings to the surface, and everybody will be communicating much more emotionally than usual. Put your logical mind on vacation if you have something important to say. People take notice when you speak from your heart. Because Cancer rules family and the past, you may hear from an old flame or a busy sibling. Time spent with family members can be especially rewarding now.

July 12: Venus enters Leo

The planet of love entering Leo can bring out the drama queen -- or king -- in anyone. It's time to be entertained! So put down the remote and get off of the couch. You'll want to get out of the house during this transit. Tickets to the theater or a night out at your favorite restaurant can bring romance into your life. Single? Find a singles event where you can strut your stuff. Married? Pick an activity that brings you closer to each other. Leo is a sign that rules fun, so go out and have some!

July 14: Mercury sextile Saturn; July 15: Mercury sextile Mars

Do you have something to say? Now is the time to speak out as information-loaded Mercury forms a beneficial sextile to pragmatic Saturn and energetic Mars. Because Mars is still close to a conjunction with Saturn, Mercury gets to dialog with this hardworking duo. Take time to explain everything you say and you will make a lasting impression.

July 18: Full Moon in Capricorn

Every month, we have the chance to step back and assess the results of what we set in motion during the previous new Moon. Now, with the full Moon in ambitious Capricorn, your attention is brought to your worldly concerns and you have the opportunity to focus on the important areas of your life. Tomorrow's Mercury-Jupiter opposition makes its presence felt, encouraging you to speak your mind.

This full Moon will most affect those born January 15-19, April 14-18, July 16-20 and October 18-22.

July 19: Mercury opposite Jupiter

Mercury in Cancer (family, home) and Jupiter in Capricorn (work, world) are in the perennial debate of home versus career. This is an important conversation about finding balance between the two. This is true for your own life, but this is also part of a bigger dialog that the whole world is having. If you -- and everyone -- can talk as well as listen, common ground is possible.

Enjoy the Sun's transit in Cancer!

All about Mercury

Mercury in the Elements

Mercury is the planet that rules communication, thoughts and perceptions. When you think, you are using your Mercury. Although everybody communicates and thinks, each person has a unique style that is represented by one of the 12 Sun signs. In addition to this, a person's natural method of communication also fits into one of the four elements: fire, earth, air and water.

Fire: 'I get what you're saying!'
Aries, Leo and Sagittarius are the three fire signs, and Mercury placed in any of these three signs will show a person to have strong powers of intuition who excels at thinking in symbolic terms. Enthusiasm is also a typical fire expression.

Earth: 'That makes sense.'
Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn are the earth signs, and when Mercury is placed in any three of these Sun signs, you'll find a person whose mind operates in analytical, pragmatic ways. The earth element likes to connect the dots.

Air: 'I love that idea!'
Mercury has an affinity with the three air signs: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. The air element operates easily through the mind and the natural sociability associated with this element is usually apparent in those who have strong placements in air.

Water: 'That feels right.'
Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are members of the water element, and when Mercury is positioned here, thoughts are strongly influenced by feelings.

Knowing which element an individual perceives through can help you effectively communicate your ideas and desires to them. For example, if your mate has his or her Mercury in earthy, deliberate Taurus, asking for a quick, spontaneous answer is likely to bring resistance. Instead, let your sweetie know that you don't need an answer right away and watch for the look of relief and appreciation.

In contrast, a Mercury-in-Gemini person will immediately have a number of ideas -- maybe more than you care to hear! When Mercury is in Cancer, that person will need to feel their way through what they think. They trust their gut feelings. An Aries Mercury person excels at spontaneity, but whatever is said may not necessarily be what that person will think later!

Starcast May 20 - June 19 (we are back to AIR and there's a lot of astrological activity!)

** Your Starcast for May 20 to June 19

It's time to explore, make new friends and catch up with old ones as the Sun begins its transit through social Gemini on May 20. Plan on an exciting month as Jupiter in ambitious Capricorn sextiles independent Uranus on May 21, offering you plenty of opportunity to break out of routines. A good conversation turns the key to your heart now, so attend events where you'll meet interesting people as love planet Venus enters Gemini on May 24. Then, keep alert and expect delays and misunderstandings as Mercury, the planet of communication, and mystical Neptune turn retrograde on the same day -- May 26! The new Moon in Gemini on June 3 will keep your mind extra busy. By June 13, Pluto retrogrades back into belief-driven Sagittarius, and with both Gemini and Sag energy prominent, no one will be at a loss for words! Intensity and power issues ratchet up, so let go of beliefs that don't serve you. This may be the most helpful thing you can do during this review, which lasts until November 26, 2008. Then the mood shifts partially with Venus entering homebody Cancer on June 18. And you'd probably stay there if it weren't for the full Moon in Sagittarius also on June 18, which urges you to get out of the house. We end this solar period with Mercury's change in direction on June 19, when Mercury turns direct. Even with all of the shifts and turns this month, communication becomes less confusing now, and you find it easier to make decisions.

May 20: Sun enters Gemini

Each year as the Sun transits through this premiere communication sign, news, information and stimulating conversations spice up your life. Air signs are quite social and are known for their friendliness, making this a great time to meet new people, attend events and go to parties. Why not start a book or film club? Or, do you have an idea for a blog? Use the need to learn to bring excitement into your life!

May 21: Jupiter sextile Uranus

This is a very hopeful and optimistic aspect! Jupiter and Saturn represent social trends while the outer three planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) symbolize collective trends. When social and collective planets meet, the larger landscape shifts. Jupiter in ambitious Capricorn forming an exciting sextile to independent Uranus offers you plenty of opportunities to break out of your routines and experiment with new ways to produce income. It's also a perfect time to join up with groups, associations or organizations with like-minded people. You have the desire to achieve something substantial, but you want it to be fresh, creative and innovative.

May 24: Venus enters Gemini

When the planet of love enters curious and talkative Gemini each year, it's time to get out of the house, meet new people and have exciting experiences. Your greatest fear now is boredom! If you're presently in a relationship, grab your mate and get out of your day-to-day routines. It's time to mix things up. If you're single, this is a terrific time to join a dating service or attend events where you'll meet interesting people.

May 26: Mercury turns retrograde

Mercury entered its own sign Gemini on May 2, and now turns retrograde in this sign, giving you time to review everything on your mind! Your tendency is to split your attention in too many directions, and while it's important to review during any Mercury retrograde period, you can help yourself by writing a list of all of your ideas. You won't be able to make up your mind yet, but this is a great time to loop back to old ideas, conversation and agreements to assess which ones are worth keeping and which ones need tweaking. When Mercury turns direct on June 19, you'll have greater clarity.

May 26: Neptune turns retrograde

Neptune retrogrades once a year for several months (this time until November 1), making this a time to re-visit your dreams, goals and ideals. This retrograde takes place in the same part of your chart for many years, giving you a chance to establish a solid foundation for your life achievements. Because Neptune represents larger trends, your personal ideals will align with a universal perspective. Neptune has been transiting through Aquarius since 1998, a sign that represents the quest for a better life, freedom, equality, peace and contentment. For greater insight, examine which house in your own chart the yearly retrograde in Aquarius is occurring in.

June 3: New Moon in Gemini

You may feel like your mind is a chatterbox with this information-packed new Moon! A new Moon always marks a new beginning and in this messenger-sign, you'll want to make sure you stay on top of all of the news, data and messages coming your way. Part of what makes this an interesting cycle is that Mercury -- Gemini's ruling planet -- is retrograde. So, even though part of this month you may feel like you're spinning your wheels, there's information to be gone over carefully before you get your plans in forward gear.

This new Moon will most affect those born June 1-5, September 4-8, December 3-7 and March 2-6.

June 7: Sun conjunct Mercury and June 8: Sun conjunct Venus

When mindful Mercury connects with the Sun, you receive information that will be useful to you later. Since Mercury is retrograde, now is the time to review all of the data. The Sun and Venus make a lovely conjunction the following day, and it pays to beautify your thoughts and projects. Think of it as an anti-littering campaign for the mind!

June 7: Mercury conjunct Venus

When these two planets (of communication and relating) come together, conversations tend to be sweet. This is a great time to send a beautiful card to someone you love, make amends with a person you've upset, or go see an wonderfully romantic movie. And due to Mercury's retrograde status, expect to feel a bit of deja-vu.

June 12: Venus squares Uranus and June 13: Venus trines Neptune

When Venus, the planet of love, connects with Uranus, the freedom-loving planet, it's important that your relationships have room to breathe. This is a social time and you're likely to want a bit of excitement in your life. So get out of your old sleepy routines and do something different! Then, Venus trines dreamy Neptune and the yearning for spiritual love (Neptune) in personal love (Venus) is strong. This is a wonderfully imaginative, dreamy combo with beautiful thoughts and inspiring conversations.

June 12: Sun squares Uranus and June 14: Sun trines Neptune

Every now and then, the universe seems to do something to make sure we're awake! As the Sun in information-gathering Gemini meets the square from gotta-have-change Uranus, expect something out of the blue to jolt you out of your everyday routines. Then, the Sun trines spiritual Neptune, and a desire to give and the need to feel inspired are strong. What sparks you? Make time for it today.

June 13: Pluto re-enters Sagittarius

We all had a taste of times to come when Pluto's transit into Capricorn began on January 25. Now, as Pluto retrogrades back into Sagittarius -- a placement that intensifies people's beliefs and opinions -- we revisit old concerns, and everybody is likely to have plenty to say! Intensity and power issues ratchet up, and you may feel that there's a lot at stake. Although this intensity can drive people to extremes, letting go of beliefs that don't serve you (or the world) are a part of this review, which will last until November 26.

June 18: Venus enters Cancer

Enough chatting! As Venus leaves talkative Gemini and enters emotional Cancer, it's time to cozy-up and focus on your loved ones. Cook your sweetheart's favorite meal or make reservations at a wonderful restaurant. Plan a fun family activity or put a love letter in your mate's briefcase. Most importantly, see if you can dip into your feelings and give your mind a rest. An open, loving heart brings rewards!

June 18: Full Moon in Sagittarius

A full Moon in the sign of the explorer brings restlessness, so get out of your comfort zone and out of the house! Naturally optimistic, Sag loves to discover anything new and different. Ordinarily, this would be a wonderful time to investigate the unknown, but with Pluto's recent re-entry into Sagittarius last week (which brings this powerful planet into a conjunction to this full Moon) you'll do well to pay attention to your immediate surroundings. Prepare for a lot of emotional discussions about favorite Sagittarian topics, such as ethics, religion and philosophies. Choose your words carefully!

This full Moon will most affect those born December 25-29, March 16-20, June 16-20 and September 18-22.

June 19: Mercury turns direct

Ah, at last! Communication becomes less confusing and making decisions is no longer a battle. Ever since Mercury turned retrograde in its own sign Gemini on May 26, you've been spinning your wheels and going back over the same data and conversations. Now it's time to leave that hamster wheel behind and put everything you've learned into practice. Sign those contracts, send out your resume or pick up the phone! The time is ripe to communicate all of your great ideas!

Enjoy the Sun's transit in Gemini!

All about Gemini

<<<<<All about Gemini>>>>>

Gemini is the most lighthearted sign in the zodiac, hands down. The Twins' circle of acquaintances is as varied as their interests, so they see an awful lot of invitations. Of all the reasons we love to have our Gemini pals around, their wit comes first. These folks find humor in absolutely everything, and their ability to say what's on their minds in an extremely entertaining fashion is world-famous and well deserved. These word-wizards and storytellers are able to uncannily impersonate anyone and anything at the drop of a hat. That includes accents, gestures and subtle idiosyncrasies that no one else would ever notice -- but then, if Gemini were a business, its motto would be 'Details-R-Us.'

True to the nature of its ruling planet, Mercury, Gemini is also quite communicative. So during those rare times when these talkative Twins are actually alone and not chatting on the phone, IMing with a friend or answering their voluminous email, they're probably on the phone or the Internet, or poking away at their Blackberries with a vengeance. If not, Geminis will manage to keep those restless minds active by doodling or solving puzzles and word games.

As for the dualities this sign is famous for? They're all true. In reality, there are a lot more than just two sides to the average Gemini, and each facet of this versatile sign has a fascinating story to tell. All that being said, it's easy to see that the one thing they just can't stand is being bored, tied down or isolated. 'Variety is the spice of life' is this sign's very own motto, and Gemini lives every second with that motto in mind.

So if you're a Gemini yourself, you know this all boils down to the fact that you can't stand being in a rut -- especially when it comes to relationships. Your sign has been called fickle more than once, but that's not fair. The Twins are perfectly capable of being faithful, as long as the person they're with is witty and interesting enough to keep them interested. No, it's not an easy task, but it's well worth it. Life with a Gemini is full of constant activity, endless movement and even more fun. And you can bet they won't scatter their affections if they can find someone who'll be willing to at least try to keep up. Gemini, whether you're a friend or a lover, you're one of the main reasons life on this planet can be fun for the rest of us -- so accept our thanks for just being you.

All about Taurus (The Bull!)

All about Taurus

All those rumors about Taureans being stubborn? They're true. But lest you begin to think that stubbornness is a bad trait, consider the way people talk about those who don't stick to what they believe in: wishy-washy, scattered, distracted. Isn't stubborn better? Of course, there are other words that suit the average Taurus quite well and have a nicer ring to them: focused, grounded and stable, to name just a few. In other words, if there's an important task to be accomplished, you'll want a Bull for the job.

But there's a lot more to that Taurean nature than the ability to make a decision and keep to it -- innate sensuality, for example. These folks are the touchmeisters of the zodiac; so if it smells, tastes, looks, sounds or feels good, they're there. Just step into the home of the nearest Taurus for ample proof. You may not find the Mona Lisa on the living room wall or a bottle of Dom in the fridge, but you'll come across something that looks just as elegant and tastes just as good -- and you're in luck, too, because the Bull is more than happy to share, as long as the company is of equal quality.

When it comes to relationships, in fact, the one thing a Taurus absolutely insists on is that they have something to share. They're very big on getting a return on their investments, no matter what they've invested or how -- and that goes for time, energy and resources. If you're involved with a Taurus on a one-on-one basis, it's not just unbelievably pleasurable -- it's also a tremendous compliment! With Venus as its ruler, this sign settles for nothing less than the best of everything; if a Taurus isn't sure their partner answers that description on many levels, they wouldn't waste their time. So if you're a Bull yourself, those thoughts might go through your mind every time you and your sweetie get into an argument that leaves you trying to decide whether or not to walk out and stay gone. You know that you wouldn't be with them for this long if they weren't the best -- just be true to yourself, and your decisions are sure to be as solid as you are.

Starcast for April 19 - May 19

Your Starcast for April 19 to May 19 (Part 1)

Moving from the new beginnings of Aries to the stabilization of Taurus, the Sun enters this security-oriented sign on April 19, giving everybody a chance to slow down. Yet this period is quite dynamic and much busier than usual with two planets turning retrograde. Emotions heighten with the Scorpio full Moon on April 20, when it will be important to let go of something. The Sun's trine to Saturn on April 21 gives plenty of support, yet Venus in feisty Aries squares Mars on April 23 while Mars opposes Jupiter on April 24 indicates that you'll have lots of energy. Still, you'll need to be extra considerate of others to be successful in your endeavors. When Venus enters her home sign Taurus on April 30 practicality reigns, while Mercury's transit into Gemini on May 2 brings an abundance of information. You are likely to feel overwhelmed unless you make a point to take everything slowly. Saturn turns direct on May 2 just as Mercury's reaches a square to Saturn on May 3 when keeping silent may do more for you than just about anything else! With the Taurus new Moon on May 5, do something that helps you to feel materially or physically comfortable. On May 9 Jupiter turns retrograde for the first time in Capricorn, allowing you to review and to see if the ways you're growing still suit you. On the same day, energetic Mars enters leadership Leo -- so be bold! You get plenty of help with the Sun trine Jupiter on May 12 and Venus' sextile to exciting Uranus on May 18 and her trine to optimistic Jupiter on the same day. We end this solar month as we began, with the second full Moon in Scorpio on May 19 giving you a double dose of intensity and passion!

April 19: Sun enters Taurus

Taurus is the sign that rules the material world, which includes everything from the earth itself to your financial life to your possessions. The Sun's transit of this sign means it's time to reflect on your values, open up a savings account or strategize how you can make your life more stable. You'll have all the stamina you need to delve into this task. Taurus is known for being thorough!

April 20: Full Moon in Scorpio

No sign is more passionate than this intense water sign, and when combined with the emotional full Moon, expect to feel strongly about everything! What did you begin at the new Moon on March 7? Figure out what you need to let go of during this time of culmination. You'll get plenty of help with the Sun and Moon forming beautiful, harmonious aspects to Saturn in hardworking Virgo and Pluto in achievement-oriented Capricorn. The world rewards your strength and passion now, so take advantage of this time.

This full Moon will most affect those born October 22-26, January 19-23, April 18-22 and July 21-25.

April 21: Sun trine Saturn

You'll see some real progress now as the Sun in grounded Taurus reaches a supportive trine to retrograde Saturn. Saturn is slow, so it's a great time to weigh your responsibilities. What would you like to manifest? You probably have a good idea about where you want to go, and how to get there. People and events provide you with the support you need, but make sure you don't act prematurely. Take your time and move with deliberation.

April 23: Venus square Mars

The square between the planets of relationship (Venus) and desire (Mars) indicates that these two concepts are not exactly on speaking terms! Sometimes the person you like is not the person you desire. Venus in Aries is fiery and impulsive in love, while Mars in Cancer is emotionally driven and a bit more cautious when it comes to acting on desires. This square can spice things up or cause problems. You'll see which one it is for you by the end of the week.

April 24: Mars opposite Jupiter

You may feel that you drank a glass of rocket fuel today as energetic Mars is amplified by its contact with Jupiter, the planet of expansion and excess. The good news is that you'll get more done today than you did all month! Just make sure that your enthusiasm doesn't cause you to stop paying attention to where you're going. This is a classic aspect of over-doing and over-extending.

April 28: Mars quincunx Neptune

What are you doing and why are you doing it? As Mars advances in emotional Cancer, the contact with illusory Neptune is enough to make you tread water while you get your bearings. Not everything is being revealed right now and it will be impossible to get all of the data you may feel you need. However, this is an important time to regroup. Next month you will feel like you are on a forward track. For now: dogpaddle.

April 30: Venus enters Taurus

It's time to talk about money as Venus, the planet of relationships, moves into Taurus, the sign of values and finances. Sometimes money can be a difficult subject but now, since both Saturn and Pluto are in earth signs, there is great potential for thoughtful and beneficial discussions about this important topic. Whether you want to open a savings account or set aside money for a child's education, this is a great time to plan for the future.

May 2: Mercury enters Gemini and May 3 squares Saturn

Mercury in its home sign Gemini usually likes nothing better than to chat, read the paper, and run around doing errands. However, with the immediate square to serious Saturn in analytical Virgo, you'll have to stop in your tracks and think through everything you say. Do yourself a favor by being silent unless you have something worthwhile to add.

May 2: Saturn turns direct

Sure, things are moving slowly-- but don't hang back or go to sleep! Saturn's change in direction will bring some forward movement to your projects and plans. You'll gain traction by the end of the month, so plan well. Decide what you want to be responsible for, as well as what you need to let others do. You'll reap plenty of rewards by taking your time and being thoughtful now.

May 5: New Moon in Taurus

The new Moon is always a time of beginnings, so whether you pursue a dream goal or launch into a project -- start something! The Moon increases in light between waxing and waning, so put energy into things that you want to become stronger and more important in your life. Because this new Moon is in earthy Taurus, do what you can to feel physically comfortable, whether you make a plan to save money, vow to treat your possessions more kindly (how clean is your car?), tune in to nature, or formulate values that accurately reflect where you are now in your life. Making a tangible, practical investment in your life can really pay off this month.

This new Moon will most affect those born May 3-7, August 6-10, November 6-10, February 3-7.

May 9: Jupiter turns retrograde

Ever since Jupiter entered ambitious Capricorn last December 18, you've been expanding your sphere of influence and paying attention to what you want to achieve with particular focus on those areas of your life that you want to build. Your hard work is paying off and you may even have come to someone's attention, perhaps a benefactor who is helping you? Now Jupiter turns retrograde in Capricorn, giving you a chance to review how you're building, and to see if the ways you are growing still suit you. The momentum is slowed during this retrograde period, which will last until September 7. Don't worry about plans that are delayed during this period. This is an important cycle, and whatever was held back will turn out to be a blessing in disguise. In general, money tends to be stagnant, so you might want to think twice about maxing out your credit cards or assuming that money will just magically just show up.

Virgos

So...what do we think about these guys? I suddenly find myself to be the object of affection for two (maybe three) Virgoans. All this happened very quickly, so I am just getting to know them, but while I count Virgo to be one of those signs where there's a huge variety of temperaments (unlike Librans, for example, who are always a delight...hehe), I have had mixed experiences with natives of the sign. Mostly what turned me off from the couple of short-lived Virgo flings from my past was...a certain daintyness in bed, prudish might be too strong a word, but a holding back. Lack of true, uninhibited passion. As a passionate and sensual person I remember this wearing thin and getting unsatisfying quickly. On the other hand, I have gotten along pretty famously with every Virgo I can think of meeting, on a personality level. Maybe this is due to my Virgo rising? Anyhow I'm at a point in my life where I really do not intend to lead anyone on, or lead myself on--to be very sure of my feelings before getting emotionally involved. I have just disappointed one too many, and do not wish that to happen again.

How have you guys experienced Virgo men?

Info on the Equinox and Solstice

Equinox and Solstice

Have you ever wondered just exactly what an equinox and a solstice are? We mark these points four times a year: on or near March 21 for the Spring (or Vernal) Equinox; and on or near September 23 for the Fall (or Autumnal Equinox). The Summer Solstice happens on or near June 21, and the Winter Solstice occurs on or near December 21.

These four points correlate with 0 degrees Aries (Spring Equinox), 0 degrees Cancer (Summer Solstice), 0 degrees Libra (Fall Equinox), and 0 degrees Capricorn (Winter Solstice). And, these four cardinal points, which form a 'Grand Cross' in the zodiac, mark our seasons, with the beginning point being 0 degrees Aries -- better known as the first day of Spring! (In the southern hemisphere, this point marks the first day of Autumn.) At the equinox, the day and night are considered to be equal, or near equal, in length. The term comes from the Latin 'aequus' which means 'equal.'

The equinoxes occur when the Sun is directly over the Earth's equator, while the solstices are marked when the Sun reaches its northernmost and southernmost extremes at the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. This is when the tilt of the earth's axis is oriented away from the Sun. The Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn are the two imaginary lines, or circles of latitude, around the earth with the Tropic of Cancer being approximately 23 degrees and 26 minutes north of the equator, and the Tropic of Capricorn being the same distance south of the equator.

Aries and Mars (two parts)

All about Aries

Aries was named after the Greek god of war, and its patron planet is Mars, his Roman counterpart. Astrologically speaking, the Red Planet has long been associated with 'red' qualities -- like assertiveness, aggression and passion. Needless to say, those of you born with the Sun in this hotheaded, temperamental sign are also passionate, impatient and perpetually predisposed to leap first and look later -- if at all. But don't let anyone convince you that any of those traits are liabilities. In the right hands, they're all assets.

That impetuousness is part of what makes an Aries such charming, exciting company. It's a sign that's always brave enough to try anything once -- at least once. Basically, if you're an Aries, you're the perfect playmate; if you're not, you've probably enjoyed good times with one! The impatience associated with the sign also fosters a straightforward trustworthiness. Aries are big fans of the 'cut to the chase' strategy, so anything that gets between point A (where they are) and point B (where they want to be) just won't do. That definitely includes lies and deceit. Who has time for all that? For the Ram, it's better to just say what's true and get it over with. Aries certainly aren't afraid to take responsibility for their actions. What's the worst that could happen?

For Mars's favorite sign, stress equals excitement, excitement equals adrenaline, and adrenaline is what makes it all worth it -- so getting involved with an Aries, even platonically, isn't a job for the faint of heart. Romantically speaking, anyone who decides to take on a Ram had better be a brave, spontaneous, unencumbered companion. But an Aries will also want a worthy opponent, someone who's not afraid to disagree with their partner -- or with the rest of the world, for that matter -- when the need arises. Aries folk are natural-born warriors who respect that quality in others. In short, anyone who's afraid (of anything) just won't do. An Aries's lucky partner will be rewarded with a life full of adventure, passion and surprises. To say that there will never be a dull moment when Aries is involved isn't even scraping the surface!

Favorite sun signs

Hey all! It's poll time!!

Just for fun, I had an idea: let's each post the sun signs in order of preference, #1 being your favorite and on down to #12 your LEAST fave. Preferential treatment of your own sun sign completely allowed, but fairness and personal experience/observation encouraged overall. (I wanted to post something like this on myspace, but really didn't want to piss anyone off.)

Here's mine, and this is in general, although I suppose I could tweak out two lists, one for friends and one for dating, but time time time:

1. Libra
2. Aquarius
3. Sagittarius
4. Leo
5. Capricorn
6. Aries
7. Gemini
8. Virgo
19. Pisces
10. Cancer
11. Scorpio
12. Taurus

A small explanation about the last four: while I mostly tend to have a hard time, plentiful frustrations and misunderstandings with the water signs, occaionally I meet a watery person who blows me away with being a caring/understanding individual, or someone with interesting insights into the world. Though predominantly I find Pisces to be unreliable, ditzy liars - Cancers bossy high-strung douchebags and Scorps to be sadistic failures who rely on strength of presence and interpersonal manipuation to deviously attain their goals...Tauruses might as well not exist in my world, they are generally just so blase to me that they barely deserve a mention. I don't even particularly dislike them. It's like when you walk down the street, and look, there's a rock on the pavement. That's a Taurus.

Latest Libra Outlook

Happy Birthday to all Libras!

All about Libra

Libra is a smiling representative of the planet Venus -- the planet that represents love, beauty, harmony and cooperation. As such, those born under this sign are always ready to do what they can to smooth things over, make peace and bring warring factions together. It's not an easy job, but they're good at it -- really good. There's nothing a Libra wouldn't do to keep their loved ones happy. Better yet, they never barge through the door first, take the last piece of turkey on the plate or forget to write thank-you notes promptly. Call to mind all the Libras in your life, and you'll likely see that they're the people you think of first when you're planning a party -- or any social event, for that matter.

Contrary to popular opinion, however, Libras don't drift peacefully from one 'balanced' situation to the next. If they did, they'd never learn their real job: restoring balance. These diplomatic folks aren't born into perfect equilibrium; rather, they're born knowing how to fix the scales when they're out of balance. That makes Libras experts at bringing peace and harmony to any situation. It's not an easy task, though, so remember that they're often more tired and drained than they let on. Being born with the ability to see both sides of an issue isn't always a gift -- especially when someone needs an opinion.

If you are a Libra yourself, then, you need to realize (especially when it comes to relationships) that keeping the peace at all times just isn't always possible -- no matter how hard you try. Still, we can't do any better than you for a partner. You're devoted -- sometimes even to a fault -- and always willing to change your plans to suit what your beloved wants to do. Just be sure not to lose yourself (or your friends, who'll inevitably get tired of waiting around) in the process.

Libras are so lovely to be around, however, they'll never be alone -- not if they don't want to be. Indeed, this is as social a sign as there is, extremely well loved by one and all!
Grounding Techniques for Air Signs

With three personal planets in air and two angles safeguarded by air, I am a very airy person. And like all air-logged folks, sometimes, we get way out of wack.

I know I should ground, I should meditate. But I don't have a whole bunch of earth in my chart. Trying to imagine roots going into the ground is just... well, it don't work for me.

Two weeks ago, I went to a Faerie Gathering. There, I met lots of Airs and one who had a Libra rising and moon with a Gemini sun told me that there IS a technique for us Air folk... but... wouldn't you know it, he never got a chance to really show and take me through it.

Help?

Or, at least offer your ideas.

Because this Watery Sun is not making for a happy Airy Homo!

I, AQUARIUS: Karmically Guilty As Charged

I, JAY/AQUARIANGOTHIC am a Zodiac AIR sign and most Aquarians find too much idealization thrown their way or scorned for rattling up infrastructures politically (OR BOTH!). With any Astrological sign, to get the real picture of the person, one needs the birthtime and birthplace location for a NATAL chart to be drawn up or done on the Internet, many Zodiac websites do it free and automated for your printouts. Found a very good tribe with much humor on Queer AIR SIGNS. There can be no HANDLERS OR OWNERSHIP GUIDE for AIR SIGNS, even if they are bottoms or bondage subs, just won't happen, intellect and variety of life and lovers might interject, but the esoteric will for freedom and telepathy will be the real clincher.

GAY DARK BOOTS ARE MY GROUNDING TECHNIQUE IN LIFE AND SEX!

http://tribes.tribe.net/bootedpast40

I'M KARMICALLY GIVEN THE TRIPLE WHAMMY OF PLANETARY ASPECTS FOR AN EXISTENCE OF SURREAL LONGIVITY AND OBJECTIVE BARRIERS. MY SUN IN AQUARIUS, MY RISING IN CAPRICORN, MY MOON IN LIBRA, MY MIDHEAVEN IN SATURN, AND SATURN THROUGHOUT THE HOUSES. THE ULTIMATE DARKSIDE OF AQUARIUS. GOTHIC TO THE CORE.

JAY. WLA. June 7, 2007. BOOTS FETISHIST PAGAN

IRONICALLY, given my Rising sign in CAPRICORN, midheaven in SATURN, and many houses in Saturn, some Queer Astrologers claim CAPRICORN is the most ANAL/ANAL BUTTOCKS FETISH OBESSESSED SIGN IN THE ZODIAC. Leather, domination, control ideologies and Political strategies to favor CAPS are also phenomena that has affected parts of my, JAY/AQUARIANGOTHIC's life, along with long drawn out Karmic periods to undo the wrongs. As of this writing I went through a sex contact abstinant period since September 1, 1996 to the present (but no problem with sex webcams or photo swaps), seems that the rigid ideological intellect of an AQUARIAN could be insane enough to follow through on that.

This is the time of year for endless aggravation, pain and misery for Libra! The Aires Sun is about to go into direct opposition to my Sun, Moon, Venus.... it seems to be worse each year! Everyone is rushing around, harshness, starkness and high drama abounds, there's a tension in the AIR! Aquarius and Gemini are not affected by this opposition - they are enjoying a Sextile! Don't get me started about Jupiter going retrograde..... UGH! :)(:

Falling for an Aquarius

So I've been seeing this guy for a couple weeks now, he's an Aquaman and I haven't been able to look at his chart yet (I don't want my experience to be tainted by finding too much out too quick, you know with my negative opinions of some of the signs?)...anyhow I'm having very strong feelings that seem to be very pure and real.

But I am confused about what's going on between us. I would like to see us develop into a relationship but he admitted to me that he has this ongoing romantic flirtation with this guy, a mutual friend, who lives in another state and that they talk all the time and that "the L word is still spoken." After hearing this I decided to approach our experience as a sexually active friendship-plus but to not get too attatched because he doesn't seem to want to yet. So last night I went on a dinner date with this other guy, a Libra I met recently who just moved to Portland, and the Aquarius I like is at the bar when we go for a drink. He comes up and I introduce the two of them and he leaves, then calls me 15 minutes later asking angrily if I was on a date and what the hell. Did I mention that last weekend I caught him on a date and he gave me the third degree when I expressed my irritation?

I don't know what to think. Fair is fair is fair. I can't tell if he's playing games with me or hiding his own feelings. I truly suspect his feelings for me are strong. This is my first time trying to date an Aquarius, and aside from these two encounters it has been joyous. Are they always so tricky? Any idea on how to proceed would be appreciated. XOXO

I'm delighted to have found this site as I am an "air sign homo"! I am a LIBRA, born 17 Oct 1952. I am TRIPLE trouble as far as air signs go, 'cause when I was born the sun, moon AND ascendant were ALL THREE in LIBRA!! That's why my e-mail address is "libraTHREE"!

I thoroughly enjoy astrology an' am lookin' for other GAY males out there who'd like to discuss such subjects.

Now, a quick question for the tribe: are gay Libran males s'posed to be over-sexed, er what?? I sometimes find myself absolutely OBSESSED with it an' masturbate FREQUENTLY, at LEAST twice a day!!

Water signs: pure evil?

Hehe, a loaded thread title I know...but I was thinking about this in the shower today, about all of the relationships I've had, and how every water sign I've dated are the WORST. To boot, I have never gotten too deep into dating a Scorpio, but I have had a few serious experiences with Cancers and Pisces. Most recently, a particular Pisces has really had a hard time letting me break up with him, it's been ongoing for three years now and every time I try to break away I am met with further disruption, cruelty, manipulation and backstabbing, and several threats. Currently my dating pool involves a lovely Aquarius and a charming Libra, two signs I have *never* had any real problems with when it comes to dating, romance or friendship (I am Libran). I admire the shared ideals, the objectivity and inherent kindness and open-mindedness of these signs. Water signs I've known are characterized by selfishness and endless supplies of manipulative tactics. Cancers try to look like heroes but are in fact narcissistic, bossy, self-aggrandizing dictators with no sense of logic or humanitarianism. Pisces want to be the saint and the victim, and love to cry about how people abuse them when really they fuck up their own lives due to their restless irresponsibility and love to blame - and some people actually believe their pity-parties which makes them even more frustrating! Not to mention they are either all pathological liars or just too nuts to know which way is up. Illogical bastards. Scorpios are just so fucking sensitive and paranoid that they lash out abusively too often at misconceived threats to their existence. Really, I could do without water signs (perhaps female Scorps excepted, I like those as buds) for the rest of my life!

Any thoughts?

I started a new tribe to counter some of the negative bullshit directed at gay men who don't fit into society's limited notions of how a man "should' be. Many gay men have taken on these judgments, as well, and try to emulate some silly hypermasculine ideal, while pointing fingers at other men who don't conform.

Personally, I find gay accents, graceful mannerisms, and softness in men to be a powerful turn-on. So it's time that gay-acting, gay appearing men got some strokes for being so beautiful and sexy and GAY!

Symbol: the Twins
Ruling Planet: Mercury
Ruling House: Third House
Element: Air
Quality: Mutable
Body Parts: lungs, arms
Keyword: COMMUNICATION
Date with destiny: Libra, Aquarius
Run for the hills: Virgo, Pisces
Where you glow: multi-tasking
What makes you tick: Trivial Pursuit
Fitness forecast: doubles tennis
Play date: tandem skydiving
Perfect jobs: librarian, lawyer
Best accessory: a shrug
A sure thing: doing two things at once
Destination: Greece
Pleasure: options, ambidextrous, knowledge
Pain: being on time, commitment, red tape
Kindness: Your nimble mind and quick call to action make you a natural for problem solving and serving people in immediate need.
What's my line? It takes two to tango.

Gemini Introduction

Describing the Twins as mercurial is right on the money, since Gemini is ruled by the Planet Mercury. Moving, restless, seeking, learning -- Gemini is constant motion, a torrent of wind which is in keeping with this sign's element of Air. The Twins are highly intellectual and won't hesitate to play mind games with a lover, mere child's play to them. They are also great communicators, so get ready to hear everything from pithy remarks to impassioned pleas. Inventive, quick-witted and fun, the Twins will jump around from one lover to the next until they find one who is almost as smart as they are and able to keep up in this high-spirited race. The reward for those who can lasso a Gemini is a free-spirited lover who shines at parties but is also a devil in the bedroom. Many Geminis are also ambidextrous. Ooh.

Gemini Romance

A love affair with a Gemini requires great stamina, so start doing those push-ups now! The Twins are both fun and funny and love to laugh, play and romp. They are possessed of a very active mind, which can sometimes lead to a short attention span. The best way to keep the Twins around, and aroused, is through mental stimulation. A razor-sharp and imaginative lover is a godsend to the terrific Twins. This sign also values adventure and travel, so a certain footloose and fancy free-ness will help this romance bloom. The duality of the Twins allows them to see both sides of an issue, so in times of stress, they are much likelier to be a lover than a fighter. They will also feel especially connected to those who can help them feel, since they spend so much of their time thinking.

Gemini Relationships

A union with Gemini is many things, but it is certainly never boring. The Twins, above all, seek a partner who is mentally stimulating, and once they've found them, sparks will definitely fly! The Twins' lover must be able to keep up in the fast-paced gamed of life, lest they get bored and move on. Variety of expression, a certain openness and a searching quality are all things which will stimulate the Twins and keep them around. Those born under this sign love to dazzle with their intelligence and quick wit and are consequently the star of any party. Jealous lovers will find themselves tested by Gemini's magnetism, and often it's the Twins themselves who are giving the test, to see if a lover is really true. The lover who can keep the Twins feeling comfortable yet give them space will win themselves a lover beyond compare. At the end of the day, the ideal Gemini soul mate has a Ph.D., and is a world traveler with countless tales to tell.

Gemini in Love

The game of love is a real adventure for the Twins, since the chase can appear to be so much more fun. The real question for Gemini is, can they find that one person who is a keeper and will keep them happy forever? If there are any doubts, the Twins will just keep on looking. When in love, Gemini can be a very caring and thoughtful partner, someone who will do somersaults to keep their lover happy. Often, though, the Twins find themselves adrift in the sea of love, feeling vulnerable and needing something, or someone, to fill a lonely void. For all the party chatter and intense brain waves, the Twins have a bit of a melancholy spot, and tenderness and affection can be the perfect antidote.

Gemini and Sex

The Twins aren't asking for much, just someone who will stimulate their mind for a great time. Of course, those mental hijinks need to have a bit of follow-through, so a lover with variety on their mind will score a perfect 10. That said, a quickie in the back seat of a fast car is just what the doctor ordered on some days. Face it, this sign is versatile! Most of all, though, sex is a mental sport for Gemini. The act begins in the head and works its way down and around. Gemini is always in search of the perfect lover and the perfect sexual experience. Once they (hopefully) find it, they will want, and give, stimulation to all the senses, for sight, sound and touch are all important. Bottom line: the Twins want something different and something complete. Not too much to ask, right?

What Gemini Needs

Someone who can roll with the punches and keep smiling in the face of a multi-faceted onslaught is priceless to the hyperactive Twins. It's an added plus if that person is smart, fun, a good friend and a great sport. Geminis need someone who can be attentive to them and who will naturally enjoy their sparkle and wit. They also prefer a strong partner who is not necessarily as smart as they are but who can pick them up, emotionally, when necessary. If the Twins can make a marvelous mental match, life will be a dream. The Gemini lover is easygoing and caring, yet daring and a ball of fire at the right moments. Mental fireworks are high on their agenda, their own as well as those they can make with another. Only those with plenty of punch need apply for this celestial light show!

Symbol: the Water Bearer
Ruling Planet: Saturn / Uranus
Ruling House: Eleventh House
Element: Air
Quality: Fixed
Body Parts: ankles
Keyword: FRIENDS
Date with destiny: Gemini, Libra
Run for the hills: Taurus, Scorpio
Where you glow: in a picket line
What makes you tick: philanthropy
Fitness forecast: yoga
Play date: attending a technology fair
Perfect jobs: environmentalist, computer whiz
Best accessory: a time machine
A sure thing: being original
Destination: Costa Rica
Pleasure: innovation, originality, friends
Pain: conservatism, being categorized, emotional outbursts
Kindness: The humanitarian of the Zodiac, your forward-thinking mentality allows you to develop helpful strategies to cope with trying situations while moving forward in a positive direction.
What's my line? Think outside the box.

Aquarius Introduction

The Age of Aquarius and the futuristic explorations it brings to mind are very much in synch with those of people born under this sign. The Water Bearer is a visionary, caring and giving lover who sees the beauty in friendship and the mutual attainment of shared ideals. These independent souls are a fount of ideas, forever dazzling friends and other groups with their quicksilver mind and humanitarian spirit. Mental fireworks are the sexiest kind for the oft-overflowing Water Bearer, and they are captivated by a lover who shares their quest for a better world. An intuitive partner who is willing to look outside the box in the hopes of becoming a more complete being will win an Aquarian's heart straightaway. The Water Bearer is a flirtatious charmer who is at home with many but also appreciates the pleasures created by two.

Aquarius and Romance

Sociable Aquarius rules the House of Friends, which means that many a courtship will begin in a group setting. Once the Water Bearer zeroes in on a target, though, an offbeat and zany romance is likely to ensue. Mental gymnastics are only half the fun, since the Aquarian mind also has a great facility for creative and imaginative play. A visit to a children's museum with the idea of improving already good exhibits is entirely plausible, and something which the Water Bearer can make very seductive. It is safe to say that a partner who appreciates Aquarian quirks is the best bet. Since the Water Bearer will keep some secrets just that, a lover who can gently draw them out will create a romance dance that goes on and on and on.

Aquarius and Relationships

The Water Bearer has many relationships -- the real prize, though, is in finding that perfect one. Aquarians love to give pleasure, in keeping with their altruistic and philanthropic spirit. They also tend to seek agreement in their friendly and harmonious way, a real boon in the give and take of partnership. A progressive nonconformist is a blessing to the Water Bearer, and if they can give them the space they crave, even better. The key to real passion for Aquarians, however, is in connecting with that lover who can make.vulnerability safe for them. Aquarians are so often busy caring for the masses that they forget about themselves! A lover who can help the Water Bearer get in touch with their innermost feelings and teach them to put the analyzing aside will tap into a torrent of emotion waiting to be released. The ideal Aquarius soul mate is an Einstein with lots of soul.

Aquarius and Love

The analytical Aquarian approaches the game of love slowly, methodically and deliberately. 'Playing' the game of love is fun in and of itself and should not be rushed. While falling in love, the Water Bearer can fill myriad roles for a lover, thanks to their keen mental energy and boundless commitment to a good cause. Conversely, a lover who won't play along will meet an immovable object in righteous Aquarius. The greatest challenge in love for the Water Bearer is intimacy, the emotional and empathetic aspect of love. Without it, love is incomplete, so those born under this sign must find that space where they can feel and trust. If that is achieved, love with Aquarius can soar to the stratosphere.

Aquarius and Sex

As befits an Air sign, Aquarians tend to approach sex via the mind. If they can share and discuss their thoughts with their lover, matters in bed will be greatly enhanced. Their natural curiosity will also lead them to experiment with creative play between the sheets, so watch out! Pushing the envelope is a natural response for these folks, and they'll continually test the waters for ever greater pleasures. A delicious mystery lurks beneath the surface of these oft-controlled souls, and the lover who can call their bluff is in for a wild ride. The issue of mind vs. body, and which is more important, is also with the Water Bearer. A lover who can convince them of the pleasure principle will set this sexual being free.

What Aquarius Needs

Aquarians often believe that their way is the best way, so it's no surprise that they'd be interested in a lover who mirrors many of their own good qualities. Social interactions and the ability to dazzle the masses for a good cause are near and dear to the Water Bearer's heart, and a helpmate in these areas is their just reward. An open-minded and flexible person, one willing to explore boundless horizons, will also help them reach new heights. A lover who exhibits warmth and understanding can fill a key void in Aquarius' life, and if they also embrace the beauty of sharing, the relationship could go very far. The Aquarius lover is unconventional yet innovative, a charmer who can wow a crowd and draws great strength from the partner at their side. Their cup runneth over when they are in the company of a passionate and committed soul. The mental fireworks which will surely ensue are a sight to behold!

I want to introduce myself. I'm a new member of this tribe. I am not an air sign, but a fire sign. I am an Aries (with five planets in fire). In terms of Chinese astrology, I was born in the Year of the Horse, which is also a fire sign.

I am powerfully attracted to air signs, especially Gemini and Aquarius. I've had a mixed history of compatibility with Libras. The last one I partnered with was indecisive and argumentative, both things that drive me insane.

But I digress...

I am here because I enjoy the company of air sign people. I'm not looking for a partner, nor am I on a mission for sex (though, cuddling is delicious and edifying to my soul). I'm here simply to see if any of the discussions lend themselves to air sign admirers. Perhaps, I'll learn something. Perhaps, I'll make a bond of cyber-friendship with one or more of you.

So, if you are so moved to do so, please drop me a line. Maybe we'll turn out to develop the kind of friendship we each hope for. Perhaps we'll turn out to have some other kind of effect on each other's lives. Maybe one will find a new job by contact with the other. Maybe we'll start a business together someday. Perhaps we'll just have a relationship corresponding with each other, the kind which has no expectations and no conventions of any kind to live up to. If you're inspired in even a small way to do so, then write to me when the Spirit moves you. Share only what it is pleasing for you to share.

Perhaps we will never meet. We can have a secret, silent friendship across cyberspace. If every now and then, we can whisper candidly & soulfully to each other, it will be enough.

Don't be shy. Open your heart, unleash your mind and channel your soul. Begin typing and click send.

I greet you in Peace.

Destination: Fiji
Pain: disharmony, solitude, decision-making
Kindness: Your peaceful nature soothes those who suffer, while your willingness to work with others ensures the job will be done.
What's my line? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Libra Introduction

Libra, as befits the sign of the Scales, reveres balance and harmony above all. If this can be achieved with a partner, even better, for Libra rules the House of Partnerships and revels in things that come in twos. The Scales are sociable and shine in social situations, where their gift of communication is an attraction to many. Librans also want to be liked, even loved, by those who cross their path, and it can be very hard to resist the Scales when they are at their most charming and magnetic selves. It's not unusual for Librans to possess an easy grace and sense of style and move languidly throughout a room. Behind that pretty facade is a smart, often smoldering soul who knows how to get what they want, and would love nothing more than to do so fairly and justly. When the Scales find the partner they've been searching for, it could be a match made in hot heaven.

Libra and Romance

'Make love, not war' is a phrase which must have been coined with a Libra in mind. Those born under this sign love to talk and find agreement with a partner, as opposed to angrier alternatives. Romance, for these folks, can often be a sexy tug-of-war, with Libra letting someone get close, but not too close. Courtship, where Libra is concerned, is a beautiful affair, as befits someone ruled by Venus -- the Goddess of Love, Beauty and Pleasure. Hearts and flowers are a must, and Libras showered with a sea of beautiful things are likely to be most receptive to amorous entreaties. While Libras can appear cool, calm, even aloof to a lover, they are incredibly playful and romantic once they relax. A lover who plays fair is a must for Libra; if not, subtle manipulations, despite the Scales' best effort, may surface.

Libra and Relationships

Where the Scales are concerned, they love looking at all sides of an issue and can easily 'walk a mile in another man's shoes.' This kind of magnanimous outlook is a boon in relationships and makes those born under this sign a pleasure to deal with in the give and take of affairs of the heart. As befits their beautiful world, Librans love to be loved and lusted after, although they may initially do so from a safe distance (at least internally). Talk about teasing! Even so, in a relationship, Librans can alternate between being the dependant and dominant partner, based in part on what their sense of fair play tells them. Above all, the diplomatic-to-a-fault Libra would rather not argue with their lover, preferring, instead, to talk things out in the hopes of achieving sybaritic harmony. The ideal Libra soul mate talks a great game and has the confidence (and dazzling good looks) to deliver the goods.

Libra in Love

There is no doubt that Libras enjoy being in love and the sexy, shimmery sheen which this blessed state can bring. Love is a beautiful affair for the Scales, and as one who admires beauty in themselves and others and seeks pleasure, it's hard to imagine a better place to be. A Libran is a stylish conquest and can make the art of love a sensual state for both partners. Librans tend to prefer a lover stronger than them, perhaps one who can teach them about themselves and help make them a more evolved lover. It's all in keeping with the Scales' desire to appear fair and do what's best for everyone.

Libra and Sex

Sex is often mental for Air signs, and Libra is no exception. These great communicators are possessed of a strong intellect, and these mental fireworks often manifest themselves in the thorough exploration of a lover. Only the brave need apply! Since the Scales like to be in balance, though, they are often thinking of what both partners want. A marked distaste for confrontation can sometimes be perceived as disinterest on Libra's part, but it's more often just a deep-down desire to please. Libras love foreplay, and plenty of talk leading to some hot action. If this is all achieved in the right, luxurious setting, watch out! Scales which are swathed in riches are a pleasure to behold. Libra loves the thought of a gifted and attractive partner, since they feel their partner is receiving just that. It's safe to say that a little erotica goes a long way with the Scales, since these folks can be oh-so-playful with their toys.

What Libra Wants

The partner who can encourage Libra to be honest, open, trusting and free is on the right track. The Scales crave someone who can give them feedback and support, and affirm that they are a treasure to behold. Wooing them with gifts can be the right stimulant. Some long talks, along with a lesson in give-and-take, can also work wonders. Anyone who can bring Libra to an open state, who can get them to think less and feel more, will be rewarded with a grateful and passionate lover. The Libra lover is a harmonious soul who adores love, beauty and the romance dance. Anyone who can take this pleasure principle and make it seductively mental is bound to be at the top of their list. Blissfully partnered Libras exude a sex appeal which is off the charts!

This tribe inspired me to create a Water Sign Homos tribe. Thanks, Benjamin. Plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery, but I'm sincere when I say you're gorgeous, too.

Check it out, if your not too into being "exclusive". Maybe the Earth and Fire signs will follow suit, and then we can have parties! Air signs can wear white, water signs blue, fire signs red, and earth signs brown, like the UPS guys. Hot!

Love to all,
Varian

So, u wanna be a Gemini?

Gemini is the third Sign of the Zodiac, and those born under this Sign will be quick to tell you so. That's because they love to talk! It's not just idle chatter with these folks, either. The driving force behind a Gemini's conversation is their mind. The Gemini-born are intellectually inclined, forever probing people and places in search of information. The more information a Gemini collects, the better. Sharing that information later on with those they love is also a lot of fun, for Geminis are supremely interested in developing their relationships. Dalliances with these folks are always enjoyable, since Geminis are bright, quick-witted and the proverbial life of the party. Even though their intellectual minds can rationalize forever and a day, Geminis also have a surplus of imagination waiting to be tapped. Can a Gemini be boring? Never!

Since Geminis are a mix of the yin and the yang, they are well represented by the Twins. The Gemini-born can easily see both sides of an issue, a wonderfully practical quality. Less practical is the fact that you're not sure which Twin will show up half the time. Geminis may not know who's showing up either, which can prompt others to consider them fickle and restless. They can be wishy-washy, too, changing their mood on a simple whim. It's this characteristic which readily suggests the Mutable Quality assigned to this Sign. Mutable folks are flexible and go with the flow. Further, the Twins are adaptable and dexterous and can tackle many things at once. It's a good thing, too, when you consider their myriad interests. The downside of such a curious mind, however, can be a lack of follow-through. How much can any one person do, anyway?

Ruled as they are by the Planet Mercury, Geminis exhibit a delicious brand of mercurial energy. They are quick-thinking, quick-witted and fast on their feet, much like the messenger god of Roman mythology that rules their Sign. Geminis are both curious and clever, which is why they are such a hit at cocktail parties. Although they talk a great game, they also love to listen and learn. With any kind of luck, the Twins will find themselves in interesting company, because if they don't, they are likely to get bored and start fidgeting. Any social setting is a good one for a Gemini, however, since these folks are charming, congenial and love to share themselves with their friends. While their effusiveness may be misconstrued as scheming by some, Geminis generally have their hearts in the right place. It's that ample energy which can also paint them as scatterbrained and unfocused, but behind all that zipping around, the Twins are busily filing all that good data away.

The Element associated with Gemini is Air. Air Signs are the thinking person's Sign, and the Twins don't disappoint. Those born under this Sign prize intellect and consider it the key to all things. At work, they are the clearest of thinkers, looking at a project from all (well, at least two) sides and putting forth some logical and well-thought-out ideas. This quality makes Geminis an asset to any team, and while these folks are not inclined to take the lead, they are a most valuable component. It's also the Gemini's literary bent which allows them to offer a useful perspective on most any situation. The Twins also enjoy bringing their objective reasoning and big-picture ability into their personal relationships. While some may perceive all this logical thought as cold and unemotional, it's simply how these folks tick. They want to connect, they just do it their own way. Luckily for Geminis (and their pals), their lightness of spirit and youthful exuberance help them to appear forever young. In keeping with that skip in their step, Geminis enjoy short road trips -- and their agile minds and nimble hands ensure that they could change a tire (if needed) in no time flat. Is all of this Twin-energy more than any one person can handle? Ah, maybe that's why they are two.

When it comes to sports, Geminis would seem a natural for doubles tennis -- and they are. They love the camaraderie of games and play, which is why they excel at team events. Whether it's volleyball or a game of Charades, Geminis are always ready to play. A book club would certainly stimulate their literary minds. In the game of love, Geminis are playful, flirtatious and endless fun. Physically speaking, Gemini rules the nervous system, which is why Twins should practice yoga or deep breathing techniques. Layering themselves in soft yellows and blues will also calm their mood.

The great strength of the Gemini-born is in their ability to communicate effectively and to think clearly. Adventures of the mind are what the Twins are all about. They also love to share themselves with their friends, and they make for charming companions.

So, u wanna be an Aquarius?

Aquarius is the eleventh Sign of the Zodiac, and Aquarians are the perfect representatives for the Age of Aquarius. Those born under this Sign have the social conscience needed to carry us into the new millennium. These folks are humanitarian, philanthropic and keenly interested in making the world a better place. Along those lines, they'd like to make the world work better, which is why they focus much of their energy on our social institutions and how they work (or don't work). Aquarians are visionaries, progressive souls who love to spend time thinking about how things can be better. They are also quick to engage others in this process, which is why they have so many friends and acquaintances. Making the world a better place is a collaborative effort for Aquarians.

The Sign of Aquarius is symbolized by the Water Bearer. In much the same way that the Water Bearer brings that precious liquid as a gift, Aquarians shower the world with their thoughts and new ideas. Luckily for Aquarians (and the rest of us), they are at a near-genius level, so their minds churn out some amazing things. Their thought process is also inventive and original. While Aquarians are happy to bestow these ideas as a gift with no strings attached, they are much happier when the rest of the world agrees with them. Naysayers will quickly find out that Aquarians can be impatient, even temperamental, with those who disagree. Yes, these folks can be quite fixed in their opinions, in keeping with the Fixed Quality assigned to this Sign. Even though Aquarians are happy to give, and they do, it's often on their terms and within their comfort level. Generally, that means ample space, since these folks are freedom-loving and individualistic and need to roam (and yes, they do enjoy travel). While Aquarians are generally sympathetic and compassionate, they like it when things go their own quirky way. Some might call their behavior eccentric (and they would be right), but when you consider that the Aquarian's heart is truly in the right place, a few oddities should be overlooked. In their own way, Aquarians treasure their many friends and acquaintances and want to give back as much as they can.

Aquarius is ruled by the Planets Saturn and Uranus. Powerful Saturn was considered the father of many gods in ancient Roman times, and was the original ruler of Aquarius. Uranus is the oldest of the gods in Roman mythology; this Planet was discovered much later than Saturn and was only more recently assigned to this Sign. The combination of these planetary energies is strong and vibrant. Saturn's force field is that of the stern taskmaster, which is one reason why Aquarians love to think and put their ideas out to the world. They also love to think they're right! It's Uranus which instills Aquarians with their visionary spirit. If it's new, radical and rebellious, Aquarians are all over it. The fact that these folks can think so creatively and inventively is one of their greatest assets. Water Bearers are all about progress and technology -- they love the latest gadgets, gewgaws, computers and next-generation technologies. Thanks to a genius which borders on insanity (!), those born under this Sign have the unique ability to present ideas which will revolutionize the world. Their approach in doing so may be unpredictable, impersonal and at times cold, but that's a mad scientist for you!

The Element associated with Aquarius is Air, and that means the rarefied air of the intellectual. Aquarians will accomplish much with their broad and logical minds, entertaining complex and scientific ideas for the betterment of all. That said, they are also artistic and inventive. It's all in the spirit of creating a better world, hopefully one in keeping with their broad-minded beliefs. Aquarians believe that their offbeat, original approach will win the day, and that new thought is what is needed to change the world. Those born under this Sign are altruistic, humane people who are determined to make a difference.

At play, Aquarians like to surround themselves with lots of people, preferably family and friends. That said, if they don't know the 'players,' they soon will! Baseball and tennis are fun for these folks (though they should be wary of weak ankles), although a spirited match of water polo would also be nice. It's watery colors which Aquarians favor, a shiny silver or an aqua blue. When it comes to love, Aquarians will also be playful, even flirtatious. While they play for keeps, it won't necessarily feel that way, since these folks are the antithesis of jealous.

The great strengths of the Aquarius-born are their vision, intellect and humanity. They are determined to make the world a better place and to help everyone they can along the way. They are truly the trailblazers of the Zodiac.

So, u wanna be a Libra?

Libra is the seventh Sign of the Zodiac, and it is at this point in the Zodiac that we start to see a shift. While the first six Signs of the Zodiac focus on the individual, the last six focus on the individual's contact with others and with the world. Librans are first and foremost focused on others and how they relate to them. We can call this the Sign of partnership with a capital 'P' because these folks do not want to be alone! For a Libran, everything is better if it's done as a pair. Librans are good when paired up, too, since they epitomize balance, harmony and a sense of fair play. While they are true team players at work, their favorite partnership is at home: marriage. Librans feel most complete when they are coupled up with their lover, forever.

It's the Scales which symbolize Libra, and just like that balancing mechanism wants to stay even, Librans want to be on an even keel. Think of the Scales of Justice and how they work at striking the right balance. Likewise, Librans are objective, just and want to do what's best for everyone. It's possible, though, that this penchant for fairness is for a different reason: Librans abhor conflict. The Scales study every possible angle in the hopes of achieving peace and harmony, so much so that others may see them as fickle and indecisive. If that's what it takes to avoid a confrontation, that's fine with the Scales. The Libra-born are keen strategists, organizing groups with poise and getting the job done (in keeping with the Cardinal Quality assigned to this Sign). Further, you can expect the Scales to be companionable, sociable folks.

Libra is ruled by the Planet Venus. In ancient Roman mythology, Venus was a smooth seductress who was at her best amid pleasurable excess. Well, Librans are certainly carrying the torch for her today. The Scales are cultured, refined and love beautiful things. Most of all, they love beautiful people, which is why Librans do so well at cocktail parties or at the theater, opera or ballet. Those born under this Sign always have the right thing to say and know how to make others feel comfortable. Suave? You bet. Librans are so adept at charming conversation that they need to be mindful of overstepping their boundaries and appearing vain or gossipy (the Scales do love intrigue). When these folks are on their game, however, they are a pleasure to be with. Librans are artistic, stylish and enjoy creating a beautiful world. The converse of this is that bored Librans can become apathetic and lazy -- but they'll smile anyway.

The Element associated with Libra is Air, and that means reaching higher, specifically to the higher mind. Librans like to put their mind to good use, and enjoy communicating their thoughts to others. They like to use their smarts (and talk) to get to know others better -- yes, knowledge about people is where it's at for Librans. You can expect the Scales to make a fair argument, too, since they live by the principles of diplomacy and compromise. When this approach doesn't work, however, Librans are not above using their persuasive charms to get their way. Manipulative? Nah, Librans really are too nice for that. Plus, any end-runs that these folks use are usually to build themselves up, since the Scales can be easily deterred. Librans are polite and don't like to fight, far preferring to talk things through. Remember, these folks know how to communicate (they're Air) so they're bound to make their point. Librans don't get in a huff when faced with an opposing viewpoint. Rather, they take a deep breath and consider all the options in the spirit of cooperation.

Librans at play may not be as energized as at work, if you call socializing work (and the Scales do). That's why exercise for Librans needs to have a social component to it, such as that found at a gym. Alternatively, Librans love the outdoors, so riding and biking can also prove fun. They also love the colors of the sunset sky, that melding of ivory, pink and light blue. In the game of love, Librans are a bundle of energy, romantic and loyal to the core. The Scales need to be on the lookout for their lower backs, though, which tend to shoulder any burdens they may be carrying.

The great strength of the Libra-born is their quest for fairness, peace and harmony. That the Scales are the great diplomats of the Zodiac further helps their case. A beautiful journey this will be, thanks to the Libran's inimitable sense of style.

So, it's been a long while since I've met a guy I've been genuinely interested in (though my Libran flirtatiousness rarely takes a rest, heh), but I've met a wonderful young Gemini man. We've only been out on a couple of dates, but I'm seriously interested in pursuing the idea of a relationship with him, though it's too early to bring the topic up without sounding....too eager? We just have so much in common and I just find him...delightful.

So to the Gemini men of this Tribe, any advice? How does one go about winning the heart of a Gemini? Despite having a number of boyfriends under my belt, none of them have been other Air Signs, and I'm ready for a real connection here. Any help would be lovely.

I am: Libra/Aquarius moon/Virgo rising
He is: Gemini/Scorpio moon/Cap rising

Thanks in advance, gents!

May Astro Update by Mark S. McNutt

Astrological Update for May 2006
(Soli Lunar New Moon in Taurus beginning April 27th)

The dance of the planets continues! Even when we deny or ignore their influences, we find that our magnetism and watery bodies continue to draw influences from our immediate environment and the subtle influences of the cosmos beyond. The microcosm of our selves reflects the macrocosm.
As this eclipse month ends, a little known fault near Salem OR gives a shudder as if to say, ”Yes!” even Gaia, the world Spirit herself, is aware of the alignment of Sun and Moon.
The new moon defines the area of focus for the month, which then unfolds in potential for the first two weeks and then releases that potential (as defined by the full moon) over the following two weeks. All the while, the other 8 planets continue in their spiral dance to unfold our personal and planetary journey.
This new moon begins 4/27 at 12:44 pm PDT (West Coast US time) with Sun and Moon in Taurus. Taurus has to do with the Earth and Her resources, physical plane, body awareness, material goods, land, wealth, and all that is tangible and measurable, as well as the artistic and beautiful. It is no coincidence that the ancients observed the connection between this earth sign and the joy of the Earth’s creation through flowers and growth of all that is green.
Energy radiates from the middle of the fixed signs outward. That is, midseason is the embodiment of the season. Spring, is described best by Beltane (the good time) and the flowing propagation of the Earth, than the firey newness of Aries. Summer, is described best by the midseason fires of Leo and Lammas in August than by the watery homebody sign of Cancer. Fall is described best by the intense and watery mystery of Scorpio and Samhain than by the balance of airy Libra. Winter begins with Capricorn but the airy potential of Aquarius and Imbolc speaks of the return of light, social life, and the rekindling new ideas.
So, this Taurean mid-season time, is the time for planting and being with nature, and especially for being true to our natures! The more we embrace what is natural for our body and being during this time, the more we manifest what is natural and healthy for us. Be aware of the abundance concerning our physical bodies and the environment, acquisition of goods and structures, the planting and the cultivation of gardens, and the magickal connection with nature. Garden, build, go for walks, and spend as much time as possible at the ultimate website...TheNaturalWorld.net.
The full moon on 5/13 will bring forth a tidal wave of emotions and intense passions to a peak that is very powerful for moving energy; Jupiter and Uranus add to this. Ground yourself and ride the wave, trusting your emotions and knowing that your mission will have tangible results in May and beyond.
Beginning the evening of 5/20, the Sun will move into the airy sign Gemini, bringing intellect and fanciful wings for networking the new ideas that are born of the strong roots available now. The plant is only as strong as its’ roots, so focus before 5/20 on growing and nourishing whatever those roots are. Otherwise, those plants (that is, your ideas and strategy) may become top heavy from too much talk and not enough walk. Don't let your focus dissipate and dry out, water your emotions heavily in mid month.
Jupiter and Uranus are in the water signs of Scorpio and Pisces respectively, and are in trine, a favorable aspect, all month. This is excellent for new ideas and friendships, and creativity coming out of the blue with mostly positive and highly predictable results. We can expect old friends to arrive or contact us over the airwaves from far away places. As well, we can expect extended generosity to unexpectedly be returned. Karma is its’ own reward or dilemma, as we reap what we sow in a surprising manner.
Spontaneous travel is highly encouraged, as are serendipitous changes of plan. Endeavor to do, think or plan something that is original. It’s time, in the second half of month, to climb out of the box of self-limiting choices! The dreaminess of Neptune in Aquarius further encourages this, even as it slows down to begin its’ yearly retrograde (5/23). This implies "Get going!" on your new activities before 5/20, as the end of the month is best used for herding all of the cats that you’ve spontaneously decided to take on. The end of the month energy is very mental and diffused, but air signs love that playing field.
Mars in Cancer denotes aggressive nurturing of home and family situations, and feelings which suddenly come to the forefront, especially under that time of the “visible full moon” in mid month, which dissolves into more mental and social juggling around 5/20. A great shift occurs from 5/12-20. Be flexible and creative. Explore your feelings and the mind will follow.
Expect love and relations to be impulsive and immediate but not necessarily lasting. Even as you are building new bridges, exploring deep feelings and attachments, and feeling out what you value most, it changes again with the next lunation at the end of the month; so remember what grounds and roots you and return there.
We present this column every lunation or new moon, as a service and by popular request.
Astrology works on many, many levels and we can peel back the layers to revel ever-deeper aspects of ourselves and the truth of our being.
What many are not aware of is that the very foundation of astrology most often associated with Western Civilization is in fact incorrect and misleading. Nothing has been right since. At www.gramalkin.com you can find the true facts of this and the thoughts of Gramalkin himself; a true Sidereal astrologer.

Also amazing is the frequency of the essence of ones existence being governed by inhibition dominance syndrome choke-freeze freak-out psychosis or Truth Blindness posing as Blind Faith. Truth blindness and inhibition dominance are often initiated by ONES RESPONSE to politico machine hearsay propaganda brain washing fraud slander of the law masquerading as some version of philosophy / religion or science.
